VI. Approval of Minutes of the October 4, 2011 regular meeting
A motion was made by Dorothy Shearer to Approve the Minutes of the regular meeting of
October 4, 2011. Motion Seconded by Ray Allen. Due to lack of a quorum, the Motion was tabled until next meeting for approval.

IX. Directors’ Report
Director’s Report for YFS Commission 11/1/2011 5:15 p.m.
Holiday Giving Program – has been turned over to the Program Coordinators who have been charged with organizing and facilitating this program in conjunction with Social Services.
Mother/Guardian – Daughter night – is scheduled for December 6, 2011 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm; location to be determined. This is for 4th and 5th grade girls and has been a very popular program previously. Patty Cournoyer, a middle school health educator facilitates this course. The speaker will address issues of maintaining a positive body image, how to deal with peer pressure and social relationships.
New Groups in and out of school – (see attached flyers) Interns and clinical staff are able to offer a variety of groups within the school systems. YFS staff has been responsive to requests from the school(s) for group/services to address specific need(s).
HCHY and YFS – Met to discuss the SEARCH survey results and determined that a “Report to the Community” will be released to all schools on November 17th. The OSHS parents will receive their report with their student(s) report card. January 11, 2012 is a date that has been chosen to offer a “Community Meeting” to discuss the results and a possible community action committee, or to re-energize the Local Prevention Council idea. People will also be encouraged to call key people involved in writing the report to discuss in more detail if they would like to in smaller groups.

Next meeting scheduled for December 6, 2011 possibly at the Pasbeshauke Pavilion at Saybrook Point Park at 5:15 pm.; otherwise at the Youth and Family Services offices.

Motion made by Dorothy Shearer to adjourn at 5:55 pm. Seconded by Peggy Viggiano and carried unanimously.
